Boxes are the icing on the cupcake

In early December my daughter had a small role in “The King & I” at the local high school. I donated some chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting to the concession stand. I wanted them to be easy to transport and serve, so I made some cupcake boxes with the Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge. I used plastic wrap for the window, but since then I’ve seen an idea to cut page protectors and use those.

I used many kinds of paper from my stash, purchased from various sources. Close To My Heart’s Pemberley paper is pictured in the middle of the photo. I also used CTMH’s cardstock in pear, lagoon, autumn terracotta and outdoor denim. Working with other brand papers with Close To My Heart’s made me realize how high the quality of our papers are compared to other brands. It is sturdy, doesn’t tear as easily and produces crisp folds. I like it even more than I did before!

To make your own cupcake boxes, which even include an insert that keeps the cake from sliding into the sides of the box or upsetting, order the Cricut Artiste cartridge from my website:
