Coloring is still a favorite pastime for adults. Google “coloring for adults” and you’ll find books of line drawings marketed to adults to help them unwind and relieve stress.
I have to admit I had forgotten how much I liked to color until I made these invitations for a 4-H party with a camping theme. I remember I didn’t care for markers when I was a kid — too streaky and I couldn’t control the color very well. Turns out, even I can color when I have the best tools. Shin Han markers are vibrant and don’t streak. Close to My Heart sells a variety of Shin Han markers and a roll-up to carry them. My daughter pitched in and helped me color the campers. It was her idea to shade the back edges of the windows with a different color. I think it looks great! And look, no bleeding or smearing.
Coloring is also the theme this week at Heart 2 Heart Challenges. Go there to find more inspiration from my fellow Design Team members.
If you’re wondering about the adorable camper on my card, it came from this stamp set: Camper Crazy.
“Happy” is stamped using the Handwritten Print alphabet.
The sun on the top image is a stamp in the Rain or Shine set. The sun on the bottom photo is cut using one of the Cricut cartridges available exclusively from Close To My Heart. The mountains are cut using the new Artistry cartridge.
Grab some Shin Han markers and get to coloring, then link up your project at Heart 2 Heart — see you there!
